THE GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM. An amazing building made of titanium and limestone.

This time we have to work on some popular sites in the Basque Country. I chose the Guggenheim museum .

The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is a contemporary art museum designed by Canadian architect Frank O.
Gehry, located in Bilbao, Basque Country.
The museum
was opened in 1997 and includes houses, art exhibitions of works and other exhibits.
The museum does not contain a single flat surface in the whole structure.
Part of the building is crossed by an elevated bridge and the exterior is coated with titanium plates and a limestone that was very difficult to find. This limestone is exactly the same to the one used to build the University of Deusto, which is situated just in front of the museum.
The facades of the blocks are straight metal, and its windows are rectangular. Some of the walls are painted in bright colours .After these blocks there is a small square that leads to the main entrance, and in this open space we can find a sculpture: "Puppy" by Jeff Koons. This is a huge dog made of flowers. Puppy was initially set up as a temporary exhibition, but they finally decided to make it permanent.

I hope you like my new article about this famous museum.I recommended it because it's amazing how the art came be so important for the society of nowadays because of that I love it.
